the Daghesh Forte doubles the value of a consonant, it must be rendered twice. Since the Taw (תּ) is doubled, it functions both as the final consonant of the first syllable and the first consonant of the second syllable. In order to syllabify the Hebrew word, you would need to draw a vertical line through the Daghesh Forte in the Taw (תּ).
